Family Recovery- Growing Beyond Addiction 

The home study course Family Recovery, is a guide for families living with alcoholism and explains the disease and how family members have been affected.

Family Recovery is designed to help family members develop skills to cope with disruptions and crises that are a part of life with an alcoholic; focus on personal recovery rather than on someone else’s drinking; motivate the problem drinker to get help; and restructure the family around recovery rather than drinking.

 

Course Objectives Upon completion of this home study course, the participant will be able to:

  1. Understand alcoholism.
  2. Explain their own reactions to the disease process of alcoholics, while building  their own personal strengths.
  3. Develop skills on how to intervene the addiction and motivate addicts to seek treatment.
  4. Provide skills for restructuring the family unit.
  5. Review the recovery process in the alcoholic.

 

This 4 credit hour course is offered for $50.00.
